Residential Roofing for Ledyard Homeowners
Most of our Ledyard work is residential, and most of it is on homes built between the 1950s and the 1990s. That means capes, ranches, colonials and split-levels with steep pitches, original decking and a second or third layer of shingles. Homeowners here care about three things: stopping the leak, getting the roof done before winter, and not paying for work the house does not need. We quote repair when repair is the right call, and we tell you when replacement is the smarter spend.
- Full roof replacement — We tear off old shingles, replace soft roof decking, install new underlayment and ice and water shield, and set new architectural shingles from GAF, Owens Corning or CertainTeed. Most Ledyard homes are done in one to two days, and we clean up with a magnetic sweeper before we leave.
- Leak diagnosis and repair — We trace leaks to the actual entry point, whether that is chimney flashing, a pipe boot or a valley. In Ledyard, half the leaks we chase start at flashing details rather than the shingle field. We fix the cause, not the ceiling stain, and most repairs are done in one visit.
- Storm and wind damage repair — After a nor'easter, we tarp what needs tarping, document the damage for insurance, and replace missing shingles, ridge caps and drip edge. Wind damage in Gales Ferry and along the river corridor is the most common storm call we get, and it is usually covered by insurance.
- Roof inspection before sale or winter — A Ledyard roof inspection covers shingles, flashing, ridge vents, drip edge, gutters and attic ventilation, with photos of anything that needs attention. It is the right call before a home sale, after a hailstorm, or in fall when you want to know if the roof will make it through winter.
